Vancouver without summer
Vancouver’s summer went missing
So did someone’s shoes
And someone’s boat
And everyone’s forests

Skatebook #2

Pat Duffy photo shot for Plan B’s ad in Skatebook #2
Mike Ballard and Salman Agah have just released number 2 of the quarterly printing of Skatebook. These are two guys with a lot of history in skateboarding putting out something that skateboarding has been lacking. Skatebook is a visual guide to the people who have made skateboarding what it is today, if you haven’t seen this yet do what you can to get one. Over 350 pages of skateboard history, hardbound, four times a year. A very impressive project to say the least. Skatebook.tv

NASA
I rented the documentary “In The Shadow Of The Moon” a few nights ago, if you haven’t seen this do yourself a favor and pick it up. It is an incredible piece of human history which documents the decision to try and send a man to the moon and the immense difficulties that had to be overcome to make it happen. There are only 24 people in the history of humanity who have visited another world.
Anyway, this got me to dig up some photos from last fall - I was on a trip with Plan B Skateboards in Houston, TX and we were invited to tour NASA’s mission control as VIP guests. Anyone can get a tour but it is conducted high above the working areas behind a wall of glass. Since a couple key people in the PR dept. had kids who were fans of the Plan B guys we got the full show including getting to go into the original mission control room (which obviously plays a prominent part in the film) which is still intact exactly as it was when so much history was written in the late 60’s early 70’s.
